At an Eighties-style high-school homecoming dance, Muse performs the upbeat “Pressure” – with an upright bass and backing brass groups – before a group of rather bemused-looking teenagers and a chaperone, Terry Crews. Lance Drake, who directed the group’s “Thought Contagion” and “Dig Down” videos, helmed the clip. The song will feature on the band’s upcoming LP, Simulation Theory, out November 9th.
The record will be available in standard, deluxe and super deluxe formats; the latter two editions add five and 10 tracks, respectively, to the regular version. Some of the bonus tracks include a version of “Pressure” that features the UCLA Bruin Marching Band, a gospel version of “Dig Down” and a live version of “Thought Contagion,” among others. There will also be acoustic versions of some of the tracks and what the band is billing as “alternate reality” versions of “Algorithm” and “The Dark Side.”
The group has announced the North American cities it will be visiting on its 2019 world tour in support of the album, but they have not yet announced when and where they’d be playing in each location. The list included most of the United States’ major cities, as well as Montreal and Toronto.
